On April 5 and 6, Porto was the scene of a real explosion of talent and creativity during Hackathon AEMOTECH, an initiative focused on developing innovative solutions to the challenge of unemployment in Mozambique.
The event brought together young people Mozambicans highly committed, organized in multidisciplinary teams, which for two intense days created impactful proposals in the social, technological and environmental areas.
The vibrant environment featured inspiring speakers and an experienced and juror who contributed significantly to enriching the participants' learning experience. But the great highlight was undoubtedly the dedication, technical competence and innovative spirit of young people, who demonstrated a strong commitment to the sustainable development of Mozambique.
The Salimo Abdula Foundation played a key role in the success of the hackathon, supporting the event with the prize values. Represented by its president, Paulo Oliveira, the Foundation reinforced its commitment to promote opportunities for training and empowerment of Mozambican youth.
Winning Projects
1st Place – Kuvumbula Group
A visionary proposal that applies hydroponics in family farming, promoting food security, rural sustainability and creating self-employment in Mozambican communities.
2nd Place – CTRL+ALT+HACK Group
Creators of the NTIZO platform, a technological solution to link invisible talents to real employment opportunities, fostering inclusion, appreciation of skills and greater equity in the labor market.
3rd Place – Group Take Your Future
Idealizers of a platform for training new graduates to act as mentors in rural schools, contributing to the reduction of educational inequalities and strengthening of the education system.
This hackathon was much more than a competition. It was a transformative experience of connection, training and youth empowerment.
