The Salimo Abdula Foundation was present as Bronze Sponsor of the 2nd edition of Hackathon AEMOTech, an initiative that brought together more than 130 young talents, mentors and experts on March 28 and 29 in the city of Porto, Portugal. The main objective of the event was to promote technological innovation and the development of sustainable solutions for challenges in the education, tourism and urban mobility sectors in Mozambique.
Organized by the Association of Mozambican Students in Porto (AEMOPorto) and Techsolutions Lda., Hackathon AEMOTech provided a collaborative environment where students and young professionals developed innovative proposals with real impact potential in the Mozambican context.
By joining this initiative, the Salimo Abdula Foundation reinforces its commitment to youth training, promoting creativity and encouraging innovation as key tools for sustainable development in the country. The Foundation's participation is part of its mission to support projects that contribute to the training of skills, creating opportunities and valuing young Mozambican talent.
During the two days of the event, participants worked in multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative technological solutions, benefiting from the follow-up of specialized mentors and the evaluation of a panel of judges composed of reference professionals from the academic, business and technological sectors.
The projects presented demonstrated the potential transformer of technology to respond to concrete challenges in the country, from access to education and professional qualification to improving urban mobility and strengthening the tourism sector.
The Salimo Abdula Foundation believes that investing in youth and innovation is investing in Mozambique's future. It will therefore continue to support initiatives to promote the development of skills, entrepreneurship and the creation of solutions capable of generating a positive and lasting impact on communities.
