The Salimo Abdula Foundation (FSA) and FieldReady signed today, during the Energy and Gas Summit, a memorandum of understanding that marks the beginning of a strategic partnership to broaden the impact of the Elevate Program, an initiative aimed at combating youth unemployment in Mozambique through entrepreneurial training and innovation.
The agreement will allow the launch of a national digital platform for entrepreneurship training, accessible to thousands of young Mozambicans, as well as the realization of a competitive innovation challenge, which will identify, support and incubate the best youth projects, connecting them to companies, investors and incubators.
According to the president of the Foundation, Dr. Paulo Oliveira, "The Elevate Program has emerged as a response to one of Mozambique's biggest challenges: youth unemployment. With this partnership with FieldReady, we make a qualitative leap in the empowerment of youth, creating not only success stories but also concrete solutions that respond to local challenges and global opportunities. "
The partnership provides for three stages of implementation:
- Phase 1: National launch of digital entrepreneurship training;
- Phase 2: Selection and mentoring of the top 20 young entrepreneurs;
- Phase 3: Recognition and support for the 5 best projects, with seed capital, incubation and links to the private sector.
Through this initiative, the Salimo Abdula Foundation and FieldReady intend to train more than 15,000 young people across the country, promoting open innovation, critical thinking and employability.
The memorandum of understanding signed today reinforces the Foundation's commitment to position itself as a bridge between young talent and the strategic sectors of the economy, including the energy and gas sector, making room for new opportunities for cooperation.
This is a project open to new collaborations. The Foundation invites enterprises, institutions and civil society organisations joining this mission to invest in Mozambique’s largest resource: your youth.
